Chalk It Up
Join us across the street from the museum to challenge your friends to a chalk-off or create an illustration to entertain the passing traffic. R.R. Anderson and artists from CLAW will be leading the way with their own fantastic chalk art. While you’re there, check out three temporary art installations as part of Spaceworks Tacoma’s “Artscapes,” and meet the artists who made them.

11:30 am  Tollefson Plaza

Alphabet Dump Truck
Be ready in Tollefson Plaza for the arrival of James Sinding’s work, “Letters,” that will be delivered via dump truck! Five square yards of colorful letters will be piled on the plaza ready for your creative writing skills.

12:00 pm Murray Family Event Space

Tacoma’s Got Talent
We are leaving out the judges but bringing in the talent. Enjoy performances from over a dozen of our own local superstars, coordinated by Billy Farmer. Make sure to grab a refreshing beverage and treat at the museum’s Workz Cafe first, because once the show starts you won’t want to lose your seat!

ongoing Esther and Gene Grant and the Ben B. Cheney Foundation Art Classroom Flying High at 75
Join us as we soar into the museum’s 75th anniversary year by building and flying your own Koi kite. What color will your flying fish be? We’ll be providing one complimentary kite to each visitor; additional kite kits are available for purchase. After you finish your kite, come fly it outside on the Plaza.
