School Transportation Information
Bus Reimbursement Program
Tacoma Art Museum received a gift to support transportation funding for Washington State schools interested in visiting the museum. Funds are awarded based on demonstrated need, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Funds may cover full- or partial-reimbursement for bus rental, mileage reimbursement, or Pierce Transit Class Passes.
Alternatively, you may download and print the reimbursement form. Please include a letter that explains how your students will benefit directly from visiting the museum, and how the experience corresponds to your curriculum.
If you are arriving by bus, school groups may be dropped off and picked up on Pacific Avenue in between Union Station and Tacoma Art Museum, entering the museum through the main entrance. Bus drivers may park and wait for your group at either Dock Street or Tacoma Mall. Chaperones and/or groups of students arriving separately in cars will need to pay in the museum parking lot and enter through the elevator up to the museum entrance or walk upstairs. Additional parking information and directions will be included in your confirmation.
