2007 Neddy Artist Fellowship

June 2 – August 19, 2007

The Neddy Artist Fellowship honors local artists who demonstrate a unique artistic vision and a passionate commitment to their art and community. The Behnke Foundation established the Neddy Artist Fellowship in 1996 as a memorial to Robert E. (Ned) Behnke (1948-1989), a respected painter and active member of the Seattle-area art scene. This exhibition honors nominees for the 2007 Fellowship and builds upon the museum’s partnership with The Behnke Foundation and Behnke family, which began in 2005 with the exhibition A Decade of Excellence: Celebrating the Neddy Artist Fellowship. This partnership works beautifully as both organizations are committed to sustaining the vitality of contemporary art and artists from the Northwest.

The exhibition is organized by Tacoma Art Museum. The 2007 Neddy Artist Fellowship is generously supported by The Behnke Foundation and The Behnke Family. Additional support is provided by Rebecca Stewart in honor of Kim Richter.
