In Tacoma, you gain a broad view of the artist’s career when experiencing his works on permanent display at Tacoma Art Museum, Union Station*, and the Chihuly Bridge of Glass. Tours last one hour to ninety minutes. Be prepared to walk in rain or sun.
* Please note: Driver's License or Passport will be required to enter Union Station. Union Station is unavailable on Saturdays and Sundays and other venues will be substituted.
Tacoma Art Museum - Chihuly Collection
1701 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma
The museum features the largest retrospective collection of Chihuly’s glass artwork on permanent display. See examples from all of Chihuly’s major series and have the see Chihuly’s artistic development with pieces from 1977 to present.
The collection was generously donated to the museum by the artist in honor of his parents, Viola and George S., and his brother George W. Chihuly.
Chihuly at Union Station
1717 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma
The ninety-foot high central dome in the lobby of historic Union Station spurred the Chihuly to make pieces larger than ever before. This marked the beginning of his monumental-scale work and helped to save Union Station from the wrecking ball.
City of Tacoma - Chihuly Bridge of Glass

This 500-foot pedestrian bridge connects Tacoma Museum District, linking Museum of Glass to Washington State History Museum and Tacoma Art Museum. Conceived by Chihuly and designed in collaboration with Arthur Andersson of Andersson-Wise Architects, the span is a grand gateway to Tacoma featuring Chihuly's Seaform Pavillion, Crystal Towers, and Venetian Wall.
The Chihuly Bridge of Glass includes artwork and enclosures donated to the City by the Museum of Glass.

Private Chihuly Walking Tours are available to groups of ten or more people during regular museum hours. Please schedule your group's visit a minimum of ten business days in advance. A confirmation letter and additional tour information will be sent by e-mail after your reservation has been received.
Chihuly Walking Tours are $15 per person and include admission to Tacoma Art Museum. Children age five and younger are free.
Payment can be made at the museum’s front desk on the day of your tour, according to the number that actually attends. For groups of 10 or more people, we require one payment for the group. Tacoma Art Museum accepts cash, checks, credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, and American Express), and city purchase orders. There is a $5 processing fee for purchase order payments.
