Volunteer at Special Events

Attend special museum events for free while you’re putting your exceptional teamwork, communication, and social skills to work. A lot of work goes into organizing special events at Tacoma Art Museum and your help ensure these programs are always a success.

Special Event Volunteer

Share in our success by helping with programs such as lectures, community festivals, and season-opening celebrations. Depending on your strengths and interests, there is a volunteer position for you. Assist in setup, serve refreshments and food, hand out materials, greet visitors, take tickets, and answer questions. Seating is available for some special-event volunteer opportunities.

Successful special-event volunteers share their positive energy with visitors to ensure that everyone has a great time. They are flexible, self-motivated and willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed.

Tacoma Art Museum Activities Council (TAMAC)

Support the museum’s signature black-tie fundraising event every autumn, The Tacoma Art Museum Gala. For more than thirty years, TAMAC has been a committed, fun-loving volunteer corps dedicated to organizing Tacoma Art Museum’s leading fundraiser (formerly known as Night Tacoma Danced.) These volunteers meet regularly throughout the year and coordinate all aspects of the Gala, from the theme and invitations to the art sales and auction.

This opportunity requires attendance at regular monthly meetings.

Successful TAMAC members love to plan big events and enjoy the social interaction of working with a group of people with similar interests. They take pride in their work and want to get to know their fellow community members. They have a strong desire to learn about and represent Tacoma Art Museum in the community.
