Virtual Event | On Native Land Member Opening
November 18 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us for the virtual opening of our newest exhibition, On Native Land: Landscapes from the Haub Family Collection. This is an amazing opportunity to hear from curator of the show and Haub Curator of Western American Art, Faith Brower. Get a behind the scenes look at the exhibition, walk through the highlighted pieces, and explore their connection to Native communities.

Speakers from local Indigenous communities will be in attendance to share their perspectives. Lushootseed Language Teacher David Sway-la Duenas will be sharing a poem both in Lushootseed and English; Amber Hayward, On Native Land advisor and Language Program Director at Puyallup Tribe of Indians, and Charlotte Basch, On Native Land advisor and Historic Education Coordinator at Puyallup Tribe of Indians will offer their insights into the exhibition; and, multimedia artist Calina Lawrence will perform her self-produced single “ʔəshəliʔ ti txwəlšucid/Lushootseed Is Alive” live.
