His Inclusion series\, 2024\, invites us to “… Join in wonder of what it is to notice something (or someone) previously dismissed\, in a new light”- McDonald  \nInspired by McDonald’s powerful work\, this hands-on workshop invites you to slow down\, rethink everyday objects\, and rediscover watercolor.  \nExperiment with Layering: Build vibrant\, fluid watercolor washes to set a mood and explore color blending.  \nDefine Your Focus: Use fine-line pens and drawing tools over dry watercolor to render an ordinary object or a person on your mind with fresh detail. \n \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Teen Open Studio\nTeen Open Studio invites teenagers to delve into the world of artmaking on the third Thursday of the month. The event happens during the Neighborhood Nights – which offers free admission to TAM from 5-8 pm. \nThe project is a unique space for young minds to explore their creativity\, connect with peers\, and embrace the joy of self-expression. The schedule provides an array of hands-on artmaking activities. SUMMARY:Teen Open Studio\, Master Copies: Changing the Narrative
DESCRIPTION:Come join us August 20th\, 5-7 pm for our “Master Copies: Changing the Narrative” painting workshop. In Kent Monkman’s Death of Adonis painting he is disrupting the narrative of The Last Buffalo by Albert Bierstadt\, shifting from perpetuating myths by asserting Indigenous presence in his artwork.
