Join TPL and TAM for Studio + Storytime held at Tacoma Art Museum!
Studio + Storytime begins with a reading of a storybook, exploring some art in TAM’s galleries, and then a hands-on art project in TAM’s studio classroom! Geared towards kids ages 2-8.
This month join us to celebrate Latin Heritage Month as we read Plátanos Go With Everything. You know who else like Plátanos butterflies! Let’s make some torn paper collage butterflies. Latin America is home to the highest diversity of butterflies in the world.
Monarch butterflies migrate to Mexico the same time every year coinciding with Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), observed between November 1st and 2nd. For people in the state of Michoacán and the State of Mexico, monarchs hold a special place in their traditions. Monarchs represent the souls of their ancestors returning to visit them for Día de Muertos.

Classroom space is limited, if the space is full the activity and book of the month will be available at TAM Studio on the first floor.
