Join us again on Saturday October 17th, 1:00pm-2:00pm to hear from Jason McDonald and curator Victoria Miles before Ode To Diligence comes to a close. The 2026 Current, An Artist Awardee Jason McDonald will share a history of his practice, touching on the importance of history and research to his practice. McDonald will also discuss the work on view and his new body of work. This conversation will be followed by a Q&A session held in the gallery.

About Jason McDonald
Jason McDonald ( born Tacoma, WA, 1984) attended California College of the Arts on a merit scholarship where he received his BFA with Honors in Glass. Afterwards, he was awarded the Presidential Fellowship from Tyler School of Art and Architecture, earning an MFA. He has a robust teaching practice and has taught numerous workshops at world class institutions including: Penland School of Craft, Pilchuck Glass school, The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass and many others. He was a contestant on the Netflix show ‘Blown Away’ and through that exposure frequently collaborates with other artists and designers including Solange Knowles’ brand, Saint Heron, for whom Jason designed and fabricated a line of stemware which was reviewed favorably by the New York Times. Currently, McDonald is a 3-year resident at The Penland School of Craft where he just finished building his first glass studio. He splits his time between producing art, diving deeper into the world of design, and taking walks in the woods with his dog, Mongo.
