Come join us for a hands-on lesson in basketry. Together we will visit the baskets on display in Decades in the Making: 10 Years of SOLA Awardees (SOLA – Support of Old Lady Artists). Afterwards we welcome back Museum Educator Holly Stewart who will showcase her own style of basket making with a historical take on if from the Job Carr Cabin Museum

 


Creative Aging (50+) is a free monthly program designed to inspire and connect. All materials are provided, and no prior art experience is necessary. Pre-registration is encouraged to help us prepare supplies. This program is free of charge and open to adults aged 50 and older. Each session offers enriching gallery conversations centered on current exhibitions, hands-on art workshops, and welcoming community time. Open to adults aged 50 and over, the program nurtures creativity, supports well-being, fosters meaningful friendships, and deepens personal connections to the Tacoma Art Museum’s collection and the vibrant work of regional artists. It is held once each month.

This event uses a pay-what-you-can model so everyone can participate, regardless of financial circumstance. You decide the contribution that feels right for you—starting as low as $0.

When reserving tickets, enter your preferred donation amount per ticket and select how many you’d like. Care partners are welcome, please register an extra seat.
