Join us Saturday October 3rd, 1-2:30pm to hear from artist David Hytone. Project Northwest artist David Hytone will begin with a condensed history of his practice, touching on the evolution of studio techniques and visual vocabulary. Hytone will then discuss the changes in his practice that led to the creation of the Project Northwest exhibition, The Lee Tide. This free discussion will be followed by a Q&A session held in the exhibition space.
David Hytone recieved his BFA in Fines Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design after studying briefly at the Osaka University of Arts in Japan. He has exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally, including shows in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Miami, Minneapolis, Portland, Basel Switzerland, and Brussels and Ghent Belgium. A frequent visiting artist and lectuerer, David last spoke about his practice at Penn State School of Visual Arts. He has work in numerous private and corporate collections including Microsoft, Facebook, Capital One, Swedish hospitals, Hilton, SeaTac airport, and the permanent collection of King County, Washington. A 2024 MacDowell Fellow and 2018 Neddy finalist in painting currently living in Tacoma, Washington, David’s next exhibition following The Lee Tide will be a solo show at Greg Kucera Gallery in April 2027.
