Please join us to celebrate the opening of Project NW: Eirik Johnson, an exhibition featuring Leviathan Rising. From his kayak, Seattle photographic artist Eirik Johnson captures the massive hulls of trans-oceanic barges idling in the Duwamish River, exploring oceanic trade, environmental fragility, and the machinery that carries cargo through uncertain waters.

The project also includes luminous, silver-plated daguerreotype photograms of Japanese fishing floats, created in collaboration with artist Daniel Carrillo.

This exhibition is organized by Ellen Ito, Curator of Collections and Special Projects. The exhibition is part of Project NW, a series devoted to artists of the region.

This event is free and open to the public, no registration required.
