Come join us August 20th, 5-7 pm for our “Master Copies: Changing the Narrative” painting workshop. In Kent Monkman’s Death of Adonis painting he is disrupting the narrative of The Last Buffalo by Albert Bierstadt, shifting from perpetuating myths by asserting Indigenous presence in his artwork. In our project you will select a master copy of a famous artwork and think about how you might shift the narrative in these works to reflect your lived experiences, histories, or to simply tell a different story.
About Teen Open Studio

The project is a unique space for young minds to explore their creativity, connect with peers, and embrace the joy of self-expression. The schedule provides an array of hands-on artmaking activities. Every session, from painting and drawing to crafts, is a chance to discover new techniques and mediums.
