In the wake of closing our second exhibition of The Current, An Artist Award, what if curator Victoria Miles speaks on the highlights of the exhibition and how the The Current is evolving at TAM into a permanent space for Tacoma’s Black artists.

The Current began in 2021 as an annual, unrestricted award providing financial and institutional support to a Black artist living and working in the Tacoma area.

Tacoma Art Museum is located on the homelands of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.
