“Gossip: Between Us” artist Rafael Soldi talks gossip

Necklaces, glass beads, precious metals, photographs and drawings cover the walls of the gallery in visual gossip, creating an intimate and honest material language: Gossip is a critical key to survival and a language of solidarity. It is a powerful tool; one that is an intimate whisper and political weapon. Gossip: Between Us furthers the idea of the function of gossip beyond oral communication. It embodies the solidarity and community building that is fostered through speculative thinking, our shared knowledge. It encourages us to transform the relationships we have with ourselves, with others and what we hold closely through the dissemination of information we hold and what we learn from others.  The exhibition engages the artists and their work through the lens of gossip, foregrounding the ways women and queer artists integrate their conscious awareness of the world in their work.
