Choose from one of the following themes for your group’s program. We can also work with you to create a customized program to meet your learning goals.

Self-guided experiences are recommended for middle and high school groups who have specific learning goals separate from our field trip programs.

How Artists Create
How do artists use the elements of art to create meaning? Dive deeper into artists’ choices during a virtual tour, including line, shape, and color.

Feelings and Faces
Artists use many different techniques to convey emotion. What feelings do you want to express? Explore the use of color, symbol, and facial expressions in artwork through the tour. Then, create your own work of art that expresses a feeling!
This program includes art-making materials in individual student kits, which can be delivered to local school sites or shipped to your school.

How do artists use the elements of art and the principles of design to communicate meaning? Critically analyze works of art through a virtual tour.

Identity and Self-Portraiture
Artists use many techniques to express identity. Explore portraits on a virtual tour. Then, create your own self-portrait to show the world what’s important about your own identity.

What happens when words and art meet? Ekphrastic poetry is poetry inspired by works of art. Explore art from TAM’s collection on a virtual tour, creating your own ekphrastic poetry in response to the art.
